  • [2022/03] Our 3 papers were accepted by IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS) and 1 paper was accepted by IEEE International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), which are parts of 2022 China Microwave Week..
  • [2022/03] Our 4 papers were accepted by IEEE International Microwave Biomedical Conference (IMBioC).

  • [2022/03] PhD student Jintao Liu published journal paper titled "DC-Independent High-Linear Motion Sensing based on a Novel ACAA Algorithm" in IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters.

  • [2022/02] Our papers entitled " Interferometric Motion Sensing with a Single-Channel Radar Sensor Based on a Novel Calibration-Free Phase Demodulation Technique" and "Contactless Measurement of Human Systolic Time Intervals based on Differential Doppler Cardiogram in Clinical Environment" were selected as two of the top 50 IMS submissions for inclusion into the IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters!

  • [2021/07] Dr. Gu attended the Radar and Signal Processing Technology and Applications Symposium (雷达与信号处理技术及应用研讨会) in Xi'an, China, July 2021. He is a member of the technical program committee and also delivered an invited talk entitled "RF/millimeter-wave Systems for Short-Range Radar Sensing".

  • [2021/05] Dr. Gu attended the 2021 China Microwave Week in Nanjing. He delivered an invited talk in 2021 "NCMMW（全国微波毫米波会议）". He also organized a Special Session "Smart Radar Sensors and Sensing Technologies" and delivered an invited talk in 2021 "IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS)".
  • [2021/05] Senior student Ms. Li Wen (SJTU ELITE Undergrad Program) won the "Best Student Paper Award" in 2021 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT).




  • [2021/04] Welcome our new PhD student Ms. Shuqin Dong to join the group! She came from Huawei and finished her MS study at Zhejiang University.

  • [2021/03] Dr. Gu started to serve as the Guest Editor for the RWW2022 special issue of IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques (T-MTT).

  • [2021/03] Our paper entitled "A 4D Gesture Sensing Technique based on Spatiotemporal Detection with a 60 GHz FMCW MIMO Radar" was selected as Finalist in IEEE IMS2021 Student Paper Competition.

  • [2020/04] Our 2 papers (authored by 1st-year Master students) were accepted by IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS), which is part of 2020 China Microwave Week.
  • [2020/03] Our 2 papers entitled "Silent Speech Recognition based on Short-Range Millimeter-Wave Sensing" and "Noncontact High-Linear Motion Sensing Based on A Modified Differentiate and Cross-Multiply Algorithm" were accepted by IEEE IMS which will be held in Los Angeles, CA, in June 2020. Congrats to Li Wen (junior undergrad) and Wei Xu (first year PhD student). The 2 papers were both selected as Finalists in IEEE IMS2020 3MT Competition.

  • [2020/01] Dr. Gu attended the IEEE IMS TRPC meeting and RWW conference held in San Antonio, TX, USA. He served as an IMS TPRC member on SC-28 Sensing and RFID Systems. He also served on the judge committee for the RWW student paper competition.

  • [2019/10] Dr. Gu received the 2019 IEEE Sensors Council Early Career Technical Achievement Award (news)





  • [2019/10] Dr. Gu attended the 2019 Okawa Foundation award ceremony in Tokyo on October 30th, and received the Okawa Research Grant (news).


  • [2019/10] Our group won the first prize in SAIC Future Automotive Innovation Contest (上汽-未来汽车创想大赛) (news).




  • [2019/10] Dr. Gu delivered a talk at CCF HHME2019（第十五届和谐人机环境联合学术会议）in Nanjing.

  • [2019/02] Article “Noncontact Motion Sensing – Gesture Interaction and Beyond” (Dr. Gu as the lead author) was accepted by IEEE Microwave Magazine.
